О результатах саммита

Но это все ничего не значит. Появится очередная информация о том, что спутниковые снимки показывают, что Северная Корея подогнала подъемный кран к какому-то заводу, или кто-то передаст, что по чьей-то информации Ким Чен Ын обещал разоружиться, и все начнется сначала -- снова трамписты начнут требовать признать невероятный дипломатический успех Трампа, и даже не трамписты, но не пораженные TDS, станут писать, что Trump deserves some credit.

Не так давно у меня был короткий разговор с ny_quant в комментариях к его записи "North Korea is tearing down a rocket-launch facility". Я скопирую два последних комментария.
ny_quant: It's a poor country. Building a rocket-launch facility is very expensive, therefore tearing it down is a serious step. To what end - I don't know. Hard to believe that they will completely dismantle their nuclear program no matter what we offer but the probability of this outcome just grew by a lot: from infinitesimally small to very small. It does look like a potentially significant Trump victory and it's really dumb and dishonest to deny it.

yakov_a_jerkov: It is the exact opposite.

At this point we know beyond any doubt that Trump is full of shit. We also know that a north korean chairman, whichever Kim it happens to be, is full of shit too.

What is more, we went through several cycles of negotiations with North Korea, during some of which North Korea did dismantle some of its nuclear facilities with US inspectors present. We know how well all these cycles ended.

What is even more, we have already gone through several cycles during Trump presidency of "here is a sign of North Korea maybe doing something -- quick, give Trump some credit (for calling Kim fat or whatever he might have done -- it must be working) -- it turns out North Korea did nothing of substance -- oh, well".

It is ridiculous to keep taking Trump north korean negotiations seriously. We should have known better than that a very long time ago.

Hell, North Korea is yet to return the remains of the Americans; and that is something that Trump announced that they had done several weeks ago.

I mean, how gullible can we be? It is long past time to accept that Lucy will pull the football away.
