"Fan fiction presidency runs into actual presidency again"

DNI chief Coats when asked what he’d say to Putin: “My message would be: We know what you’re doing and we know you know what you’re doing and what we’re doing … you make the choice. But if you want to stay in this tit for tat we’re going to beat you."
Benjy Sarlin
A significant wing of the administration is basically writing fan fiction about a different presidency.
The “fan fiction presidency” rule holds that a Trump White House at rest resembles a Marco Rubio or Scott Walker White House unless and/or until the president notices what his own White House is doing.

Treasury Department:
Treasury designates two shipping companies for attempted evasion of North Korea sanctions https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sm632
Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs John Bolton:
Important actions today from @USTreasury; the maritime industry must do more to stop North Korea’s illicit shipping practices. Everyone should take notice and review their own activities to ensure they are not involved in North Korea’s sanctions evasion.
"Everyone should take notice" --

It was announced today by the U.S. Treasury that additional large scale Sanctions would be added to those already existing Sanctions on North Korea. I have today ordered the withdrawal of those additional Sanctions!
Benjy Sarlin: "Fan fiction presidency runs into actual presidency again."

President Trump likes Chairman Kim and he doesn’t think these sanctions will be necessary.
Yep, what's not to like, действительно? Как сказал ранее сам Трамп, "He's got a great personality. He's a funny guy, he's very smart, he's a great negotiator. He loves his people, not that I'm surprised by that."

Now, that's the real presicency for you.

"He's a funny guy"... Khalid Sheikh Mohammed -- "he was a funny guy, always telling jokes."

I can easily believe that.
